Opportunity Overview
The E.R.M. Risk Analyst reports to the Enterprise Risk Management Platform Executive (E.R.M. Platform Executive). The position contributes to the overall quality of risk management across the client bank (Client) by calculating, evaluating and providing written commentary upon various risks at an enterprise level including, but not limited to, the following. market, tactical, credit, legal/regulatory, and operational. The E.R.M. Risk Analyst will be tasked with significant contributions to back the E.R.M. Platform Executive in the construction of monthly reviews and quarterly risk profiles that are presented to the client bank Board or a Committee of the Board. The E.R.M. Risk Analyst will collaborate with colleagues in Risk Management Operations such as line or business Risk specialists and Quantitative Risk Specialists so as to determine risk levels detected within the various stakeholders as well as to perform independent risk analyses through the execution of quantitative or analytical practices. The Risk Analyst will support with E.R.M. Platform Executive in collaborating with management in the respective business unit to comprehend and measure evolving risk and risk moderation stratagems that eventually have a bearing on the Client’s tactical initiatives as measured within the board approved risk parameters.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Vital Roles and Tasks
The E.R.M. Risk Analyst is accountable for:
- Backing Operational Risk Management Platform Executive, senior leaders, Chief Risk Officer, corporate unit Administrators, and the Enterprise Risk Management Platform Executive with risk data, analyses, and presenting written official commentary.
- Deliver impartial and independent guidance, discussion and risk management backing according to the Client’s risk agendas and apparatuses.
- Creating relationships and establishment of role as an E.R.M. liaison and business resource with stakeholder risk owners and necessary colleagues throughout the enterprise wide Risk Management vertical.
- Partaking in ventures, process re-engineering, and structure development efforts retained directly by corporate risk or otherwise in the capacity of a subject matter expert (SME) on a dedicated unit backing the stakeholder’s enterprises.
- Causative to the developing risk review platform intended to prompt feedback from the stakeholder with respect to senior and middle leadership observations in relation to developing risk and including leadership’s opinions or definite risk calculations into the risk vertical’s official quarterly risk outline intelligences.
- Collaborating and intensifying matters of substantial risk to senior executives and corporate unit administrators, with a robust emphasis on identification of computable patterns and tendencies.
- Authenticating workflows and measures auxiliary to governance interrelated calculating, monitoring, analyzing and providing written notation upon risk in the framework of the risk parameters context.
- Familiarity with the risk parameters (market, tactical, credit, legal/regulatory, and operational) to which the Risk Analyst is allotted including how the risk parameters impacts the Client’s stratagem, business tactics, and general risk taking stance in its quest of improving and maintaining shareholder value.
- Producing educational resources for the sole purpose of educating stakeholders, mechanisms of the enterprise risk management framework, universal risk parameters, risk -specific parameters, and key risk indicators (KRI).
- Collaborating with risk owners to comprehend key risk indicators (KRI) that have been planned and applied in order to quantify the variety of current and future risk compared to recognized risk parameters field such as capacity, target, or tolerance linked with the respective risk defined parameters.
- Initiating frequent meetings with risk liaisons (the stakeholder) intended to discuss existing and developing hazards and determine the adequacy of management’s strategic responses with respect to the risks acknowledged.
- Receiving executable agendas from the E.R.M. Platform Executive or the Executive of Enterprise Risk Management.
- Constructing independent methods from which to redevelop standing key risk indicators (KRI) or to measure the integrity of the key risk indicators (KRI) as provided by the selected risk possessor.
- Utilizing standing or generating new complementary measures that back and update key risk indicators (KRI) in order to deliver superior transparency around risk causes and risk motivators.
- Enquiring against present data storehouses and carrying out technical analyses supporting the corporate risk management interpretation of risk at the enterprise level.
- Cooperating with contemporaries and administrators within the risk vertical to enable the sharing of risk and control data about the corporate divisions within their extent of accountability.
QUALIFICATIONS
Credentials
The following knowledge is essential for the E.R.M. Risk Analyst:
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, business, accounting, finance, quantitative analysis, or related areas.
- Masters or advanced degree ideal.
- Wide-ranging knowledge of liquidity, capital management, and interest rate management practices.
- Knowledge in performing an assortment of technical analyses interrelated to root cause determination, anomaly/irregularity identification, trending, and balance vacillation.
- Acquainted with the current financial services regulatory atmosphere.
- Precise familiarity with financial institution operations is mandatory as is an understanding operating expense controls, financial institution interrelationships, revenue/income generation, and connected performance measures.
- Universal familiarity with origination, underwriting, and portfolio management practices over retail consumer and business/commercial/corporate loan portfolios.
- Practiced in facilitation, deployment, and supervision of germane key risk indicators (KRI).
- Risk and control knowledge including but not limited to the following areas: audit, credit, ALM, operations, and SOX.
- Universal understanding of the COSO E.R.M. or equal risk management outlines.
- Six or more years’ knowledge in a financial services setting, with concentration in financial institution operations, risk management, finance area (treasury and/or accounting), internal audit, consumer or commercial credit risk, information technology (I.T.), or wealth management/private banking/ corporate (or personal) trust.
- Aptitude to contribute to the progress, execution, and supervision of a risk parameters platform, including key risk indicator (KRI) analysis and risk profile presenting written official commentary.
- Previous use or working acquaintance with Tableau, SAS, SQL, ACL, IDEA, or comparable use of query languages is ideal.
- Working knowledge with Microsoft Excel and / or Access data management methods
- Professional certification in an interrelated discipline is highly desirable in lieu of an advanced degree. Examples include:
